Several local charities, organisations, clubs and groups have received a helping hand from Glasgow Airport’s FlightPath Fund in recent weeks.
The Sculpture House Collective in Paisley was awarded £800 to help the community interest company (CIC) run a series of summer schools delivering creative sessions and family support during the holidays.
Clydebank-based Dynamite Gymnastics has been awarded £720 towards the purchase of conditioning equipment to ensure members can build on their strength and stay in peak physical condition.
The staff at Ranfurly Care Home in Johnstone applied for support to buy raised flower beds so residents with mobility issues could enjoy the garden and were awarded £500.
Robertson Park Bowling Club in Renfrew received a contribution of £300 towards replacing equipment, while the Lochfield Primary School Parent Council in Paisley was awarded £750 to help kick-start plans to build a sustainable community garden.
More than £115,000 is being made available by the FlightPath Fund this year to support community groups, charities and sustainability-themed projects local to Glasgow Airport.
The Fund’s committee is continuing to urge neighbouring groups and organisations to submit applications and is keen to support sustainability-themed projects aimed at improving the environment in the communities local to the airport. The deadline for applications for the next meeting in June is this Friday.
