- Lump sum windfall to provide a lasting benefit to one charity or community group -
Charities and organisations have been urged to apply for a £25,000 lump sum from Glasgow Airport’s FlightPath Fund to help provide a lasting benefit for their community.
The money will be given to a charity or community group based in one of the local areas, Renfrewshire, Glasgow, East and West Dunbartonshire, which currently fall under Glasgow Airport’s flightpath.
In order to be considered for the support, applicants must demonstrate positive outcomes in at least one of the three areas where the FlightPath Fund’s community investment is focused – education, employment and the environment.
The Fund’s chair, former KPMG Scotland head Archie Hunter, said: “This one-off lump sum will present one charity, community group or organisation from our local authority areas with a tremendous opportunity to make a significant difference.
“Through this Fund, Glasgow Airport has been a force for good for many years now and continues to support a diverse range of organisations across the west of Scotland from dance troupes to veterans’ charities and disability groups to sports clubs.
“I’d urge the many local groups and organisations in the areas we serve, including those which have previously received funding, to grasp this opportunity and submit an application, as the £25,000 on offer really could make huge difference to the people they support.”
The FlightPath Fund’s independent committee meets every two months to consider applications and includes elected representation from the local authorities for Renfrewshire, Glasgow, East and West Dunbartonshire. So far this year the FlightPath Fund has awarded over £65,000 to 35 charities and community groups.
If you are a charity or community group seeking funding and your project meets the following criteria please submit an application.
To be considered a project must:
Create a significant and sustainable benefit to the community Yield positive outcomes in at least one of the following areas: education, employment and the environment Benefit a significant number of people
